Our Goal

Going back 11 years when we were thinking about getting a bloodhound the word "breeding" never came to mind. We just wanted a pet. A dog to love and be proud of. Since adding our first bloodhound in early 1997 it wasn't until 2002 when we thought about adding a female to our family in hopes to breed. We are now planning our first breeding for spring 2007 - 10 years after getting our first bloodhound. My point being, we are not breeding bloodhounds for profit. We are not producing bloodhounds just because we own a female. We are breeding to better the breed and to put healthy, sound puppies on the ground with good temperaments. There is a lot of time and energy that goes into breeding. Researching pedigrees, learning about different bloodlines and keeping a watchful eye open to see what different bloodlines are producing. There are many bloodhound breeders out there who put a lot of time and effort into their breeding programs and feel the same way I do. On the other hand, there are others who are in the market to make a buck and sell puppies because "they own a female". Be careful of these breeders. Look for things like OFA clearances and make sure you are buying AKC registered bloodhounds. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have even if you are planning to purchase a puppy else where. Never rush into getting a dog ALWAYS buy from what you feel is a responsible & reputable breeder. Remember, a good breeder will ALWAYS take a dog they bred back when the owner can no longer care for that dog.
